SCOLIOSIS

Scoliosis is an abnormal curve of the spine. Most scoliosis is mild, but for those who need it, back braces and special surgery can help.

SINUSITIS

The sinuses are hollow cavities in the skull bone designed to cool the brain. They are intimately connected to the nose, throat and middle ear (inside the eardrum). They become inflamed due to food allergies (dairy, wheat and others) or environmental pollutants especially smoke. This inflammation, sinusitis, results in mucous buildup otherwise known as sinus congestion. Eliminating the cause is important.

SPASTIC COLITIS

Normal peristalsis is gentle wave-like muscular contractions in the colon (bowel) that move food and waste in a synchronized method down the intestinal tract. In Spastic Colitis the waves are irregular and unsynchronized resulting in cramping, pain, bloating, irregularity and vitamin deficiencies. Treatment includes proper diet including more fiber, fewer animal products and processed foods, regular exercise and hydration.

STROKE

Stroke is when a portion of the brain dies due to a lack of oxygen. The 2 main types are “occlusive” where a blood clot or cholesterol plaque cuts off blood flow, or “hemorrhagic” where a broken blood vessel, usually from high blood pressure causes bleeding into the brain and subsequent bruising of the brain. Symptoms of disability occur on the opposite side of the body from where the stroke occurred.
